There is a large range of tools that are designed for measuring tiles, applying them to surfaces, and creating a neat finish. Decide which tools you need for your project using the checklist:

Sponge
Keep a bucket of water and a sponge to hand to wipe away excess tile adhesive, and to clean your tools as you work.

Grout Spreader
The rubber blade presses grout into place, and the straight edge limits overspill onto the tiles.

An Indelible Pen
Use to mark cut lines on tiles. Best used with electric cutters, so that the water used to cool the blade does not smudge the guide lines.

Grout Shaper
Run alogn a grout line, after applying the grout, to create a smooth finish.

Profile Gauge
Press the gauge against a profile or edge to make a guide that can be traced onto a tile.

Grout Rake
Scrape the blade along the tile joints to remove old grout that you want to replace.

Adhesive Spreader for Tiles
Use to apply tile adhesive to the back of files.

Tiling Trowel
The notched edges distribute adhesive evenly and in a ridged patter, so that tiles stick firmly.
